Education

Education is the cornerstone of IPrime's mission. Industrial Partners collaborate not only with faculty researchers but also with promising student researchers in six departments of the University's Institute of Technology (IT)-Chemical Engineering and Material Science, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Physics.

These students benefit from their interactions with our Industrial Partners-their research is strengthened by understanding the needs and constraints of industry. Member companies enjoy the benefits of this collaboration as well. Many of our student researchers have accepted positions with IPrime member companies. Visit the program web sites for information on recent graduates.

IT and its programs consistently appear among the top 20 in national rankings by U.S. News and World Report, the Princeton Review, and the National Research Council. This innovative environment draws some of the best young researchers to our programs. In addition, the MRSEC Educational Programs conduct a vigorous outreach to under-represented groups and minorities plus provide an opportunity for secondary and post-secondary students and teachers to augment their learning with research.

Industrial Partners may also take advantage of the educational opportunities available at the University by attending workshops and short courses or by purchasing any of the six textbooks in the "Fundamentals of Interfacial Engineering" series written by IPrime faculty.
